Experts from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have calculated that by the end of 2020 there is a real danger that beer and coffee will disappear.

The reason for this is climate change, which affects the yield of two of the most consumed beverages.

According to experts, coffee production will decrease by 30%, which will lead to a gradual rise in its price.

The same will happen to the price of beer, for which it is predicted that its taste will begin to change over time due to barley, which does not withstand drought.

According to these forecasts, coffee producers will become poorer by up to $ 200 per acre if the average annual temperature rises by 2.5 degrees.

Researchers at the University of Queensland say barley farms have also been hit by annual droughts.

For this reason, experts are trying to create a variety of barley that can withstand prolonged heating.

However, the new barley variety will seriously change the taste of our familiar beer. But only this innovation can guarantee farmers a harvest from which to produce beer despite the weather conditions.

For now, our national cuisine is protected from the climatic conditions, and in Plovdiv is recently organized a presentation of culinary masterpieces made from traditional Bulgarian products.

The culinary competition was on the topic of Tradition - popular local products and was organized by the Bulgarian Association of Professional Chefs and the International Fair Plovdiv.

More than 100 chefs, confectioners, pizzerias and carving decorators took part in the event.

They were evaluated by an international jury, and the rules were in line with the requirements of the World Association of Cooking Guilds.

During the seventh edition of the National Culinary Cup of Bulgaria, tournaments for the best young chef, baker, waiter and bartender were held again.

Each of the chefs had 2 hours to make pork chop and trout specialties.
