Different types of nuts require different ways of roasting and consumption. Hazelnuts are extremely tasty and useful nuts, which, however, are relatively expensive ready-baked. Therefore, you can prepare them yourself at home.

In fact, hazelnuts, like most nuts, are most useful in their raw state. In this way, in addition to fats and calories, they bring the body its beneficial vitamins and minerals.

The first thing you need to do when you decide to roast hazelnuts is to get rid of their shells. It is a matter of personal choice what you will break them with, depending on what tool you have.

When you clean the hazelnuts, you will notice their thin brown skins. Don't worry - after baking, this thin skin will fall off on its own. And even if it does not separate, do not worry - it is in no way dangerous to health. It can only give a slight bitter taste.

If you still want to remove unwanted skins, you need to blanch the hazelnuts before baking. They are placed in boiling water with dissolved 2-3 tbsp. baking soda for a few minutes. The hazelnuts are then rinsed under running water, preferably in a colander. Thus, the scale falls off only with a light rub.

Hazelnuts are roasted in the same way as peanuts. Moisten, salt if desired and bake at about 150 degrees. Periodic stirring is required.

The nuts are moistened so that the salt sticks better to them. If desired, water can be replaced with protein - this way they become more crunchy.

Hazelnuts can also be cooked in the microwave. Wash, dry lightly, sprinkle with salt if desired and put in it. Others prefer to put them straight unpeeled and without salt.

Nuts, whatever they are, are quite tender and fry very quickly. They need an average of 10-12 minutes. It is good not to leave them unattended so as not to burn.

Once they are ready, the hazelnuts are spread on a newspaper and covered again with one. Newspapers will pick up unnecessary moisture.
