The original Straldzha brandy from 30 years ago is here again. The first one will be bottled again in Yambol Muscat brandy. The reason for this is her 30th birthday.
The original recipe has made Straldzha brandy legendary. In the past, it fully follows the production recipes. Produced from high quality pure muscat distillate, aged in Straldzha oak from the Kamchia river valley for up to 6 months, it takes us back to the distant 1986.
The Yambol winery bottles the first muscat brandy in Bulgaria under the well-known brand Straldzhanska. The increasingly tangible return of the love for homemade brandy requires a return to the trends of the past in the spirit of the new tradition. In the name of this, the winery is determined to revive its original recipe, preserved for centuries and passed from father to son in the Straldzha region.
The memory of centuries-old traditions returns thanks to technologists. They hope to keep the recipes handed down by winegrowers and winemakers from the Yambol and Straldzha regions.
The first information about the cooking technology dates back to 1610. They are found in many different historical documents and legends.
Straldzha, the famous ancient Thracian and medieval settlement, is located at the crossroads between Southern, Northern Bulgaria and the Black Sea coast. To this day, his remains keep the secrets of the centuries-old history of southeastern Bulgaria.
Legend has it that the recipe for the local alcoholic beverage was revealed only among the locals by word of mouth. Its use was revived in the 9th century, when the young descendants of the first clans in Straldzha resumed production. They prepare it from their personal muscat massifs, using only oak from the Kamchia river valley.
This allows its characteristic taste to be preserved to this day. Therefore, of course, the main credit goes to the muscat vineyards - the main livelihood of some of the oldest settlers in the area. Today in the municipality there are over 10,000 decares of them - enough to ensure production.
