With the approach of one of the most revered Orthodox holidays, St. Nicholas Day, fishmongers began to play with prices. After the more observant of them noticed that the residents of Varna intended to put bonito, not carp, on their holiday table, they immediately increased its value. Thus, only a few days before December 6, a kilo of bonito is traded for nine levs at the Big Fish Market.

By the holiday, however, the price will rise to ten levs, traders are convinced.

Slightly cheaper is the cost of live carp, where a kilo costs six levs. The silver carp can be found at a price of three levs per kilogram, and only one head of fish is sold for two levs.

At the Big Fish Market you can find another black grouse for seven levs, which in the evening even gets cheaper by two levs. By St. Nicholas Day, however, its value will most likely rise due to the more scarce catch, which is observed in bad winter weather, writes TrudBg.

Fresh gopa and sprats are relatively cheaper at the moment. A kilo of the first type of fish costs BGN 1.50, and the second - BGN 2.50. Lichmus and horse mackerel are at the same price and a kilo of them costs seven levs. The kayak is two levs cheaper.
