His fame is especially great in America, where his taste has taken over not only Japanese restaurants but also traditional ones. And also shops, stadiums and even the street. There is food with Teriyaki everywhere.

Teriyaki sauce is also on the stands of Europe, as well as in Bulgaria, where Kikkoman offers it ready for marinating fish, chicken, meat and vegetables, to which it gives a superb sweet-salty taste. The credit for this taste has one of its ingredients - myrin. This is a kind of sweet Japanese rice wine, resembling sake, which is responsible for the specific aroma of Teriyaki.

The name of the favorite sauce comes from two Japanese words - teri (shiny) and yaki (baking, cooking). Teriyaki is actually the technology of cooking meat and fish in Japanese, and its tradition dictates that the products be marinated for about half an hour before roasting. This method dates back to the 17th century and is one of the three Japanese baking methods known worldwide. The others are yakitori and sukiyaki.

The story goes that Teriyaki sauce was made in Hawaii by Japanese immigrants who moved there. On its territory, they created a remarkable marinade, using local products such as pineapple juice, which they mixed with soy sauce. And so the Teriyaki sauce was born! Its main ingredients to this day are sugar, garlic, salt, mirin and soy sauce.

Through years teriyaki sauce has established itself as a perfect marinade for chicken, beef, fish and other meats. The technology of its use requires the products to be marinated for 30 minutes, then baked, mostly grilled, and finally served with rice and vegetables.

One of the most famous dishes with Teriyaki sauce is Teriyaki chicken. The recipe for it comes from Japan, it is simple and easy to prepare, and the end result is really impressive. Especially if accompanied by a light white wine. See how you can do it:

For the preparation you will need 2 chicken fillets, 1 teaspoon of ginger powder, one tablespoon of finely chopped onion, one tablespoon of oil, 30 grams of roasted sesame seeds, white rice for garnish, 60 ml soy sauce Teriyaki.

First, you need to prepare the chicken - cut it into large cubes, then put it in a bowl and pour Teriyaki sauce over it so that it is completely immersed. Add the ginger and honey if desired. Mix it well and leave it for 30 minutes.

Then prepare the rice. Then pour the oil into the pan and heat it over high heat. Put the chicken without the marinade and leave it for a few minutes, stirring constantly to cook on all sides.

When the pieces turn golden, you can add the marinade and reduce the heat. Allow to cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens. Sprinkle the meat with sesame seeds a minute before the end of cooking.

Serve with rice on a plate, placing the meat and sauce on the sides. Sprinkle with finely chopped onions.
