Denitsa Dincheva - an expert in the Ministry of Agriculture, announced at a seminar organized by the Association of Agricultural Producers in Bulgaria that it is possible to soon buy cheese from mobile dairies.
For this purpose, however, the current Ordinance on direct deliveries must first be revised.
The mobile dairies will be specially equipped trucks that will process only sheep, buffalo and goat milk, because the standards at which cow's milk can be processed are higher.
The project also envisages the construction of 15 markets in the country, which will offer poultry and rabbit meat, milk and dairy products, eggs and honey in specially equipped food showcases.
The local farmers were dissatisfied with the Ordinance from 2010, according to which they could not offer their own production directly, but had to resell it for processing. According to the new changes, the regulatory quantity that farmers will be able to sell directly will increase.
The new project says farmers will be able to offer up to 150,000 kilograms of cow's milk a year, 1,000 eggs a week and 5,000 kilograms of meat a year.
Recent inspections of domestic hypermarkets show that a large amount of honey is imported from China and Argentina and has no nutritional value, as GMOs are widely used in both countries.
Although last year we had a large production of honey, with 30 kilograms extracted from some hives instead of the usual 20, most of the native honey was exported to European Union countries, mainly Germany, where about 5,000 tons went.
Traditionally in the home markets a jar of real honey costs between 8 and 10 leva. The native beekeepers share that the purchase price has not changed for 5 years and the wholesale linden honey costs BGN 4.50 per kilogram, and the acacia honey - BGN 5.50 per kilogram.
Natural honey can be recognized by the small impurities it contains and other natural ingredients that cause it to become sugary.
