In the last week, the wholesale prices of food products in our country have risen significantly, according to data from the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets.

At the beginning of autumn, the values of vegetables, meat and dairy products rose the most. From the beginning of September, Bulgarians will have to spend more money to prepare their favorite tarator.

For the last week a bucket of yoghurt has risen by an average of 1.3%, which makes its average price 0.77 leva. Greenhouse cucumbers have also registered an increase in values, and their wholesale weight is now available for BGN 1.70. This is a jump of 12%.

There are also significant price increases for greenhouse tomatoes. In just one week, they have jumped by nearly 20%, which makes the cent per kilogram 1.10 leva.

Wholesale zucchini jumped by 23% and on wholesale exchanges their weight is traded for BGN 0.90.

This is the situation with the prices of some seasonal vegetables, but unfortunately similar trends are observed in meat as well. Another major food product, which rose in price in the first week of September, is chicken, Bulgarian National Television reported.

The kilogram of chicken meat has risen by 0.7%, and the minced meat and sausages have reached values of BGN 4.50 per kilogram.

The rise in prices of vegetables in this period of the year is becoming a trend, as traditionally in the beginning of autumn in our country pickles are prepared and the consumption of tomatoes, cucumbers and zucchini is increased.
