The modern western way of eating shortens our lives. Habits make our lives shorter than normal.

A new study has proven how harmful the fatty foods, sugar and meat we eat on a daily basis are. Everything, of course, depends on their processing, but in general they are not particularly recommended if we live more years.

In the study, British scientists used data from a study conducted between 1986 and 2009. It looked at the eating habits of 5,000 people. They were mainly civil servants, 3,775 of whom were men and 1,575 women. The average age of the participants was about 51 years.

As part of the observation, scientists sought confirmation of the effect of healthy eating. Based on hospital data, results of prophylactic tests, as well as statistical information, the analysts were able to calculate the mortality and chronic diseases of the participants.

The results then were more than definite. People whose diet consists mainly of processed and red meat, white bread, butter and cream, fried and sweet, are twice as likely to deteriorate their health and die prematurely than others. The risk increases in proportion to age.

The second stage of the study followed, in which nowadays the researchers searched for data about each participant and his health condition. It turned out that only 4% of the participants had reached the so-called perfect aging. This means that they were completely healthy, did not suffer from any chronic diseases and had good mental, physical and mental indicators.

About 3/4 of the participants fell into the group of normal aging. 12% had a cardiovascular accident and about 3% had already died of cardiovascular disease. The more they relied on the Western diet, with refined grains, red meat, fried and sweet foods, the less chance they had of reaching this ideal aging.

Scientists explain that these are still people who at the beginning of their lives still ate healthily, but as a result of the changes began to eat according to the European model.

This means that young people who start with chips and chocolate will be even more at risk. They face many diseases and an earlier death if they do not change their harmful habits in time.
