After the producers of chocolate desserts Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Celebrations and Mini Mix announced that they are withdrawing their batches from 55 countries, the BFSA reassured that there is no reason to worry in our country.

Desserts made in the Netherlands, which are suspected to contain plastic, have been announced to be withdrawn from the market.

The signal for the dangerous Mars and Snickers was given by a German woman, who found a half-centimeter piece of plastic in one of the chocolate cakes. For this reason, the download of desserts began in Germany.

The Food Safety Agency in our country reports that so far in our markets there is no signal for the sale of desserts from suspicious batches.

Just in case, however, they advise consumers to check the expiration dates of the Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Celebrations and Mini Mix they buy.

In the notification received through the Warning System for Dangerous Foods and Feeds (RASFF), Bulgaria is not indicated as a country where they are delivered by the responsible batches, the BFSA announced in the official announcement.

However, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has undertaken preventive inspections in retail outlets in Bulgaria.

The agency also advises retailers themselves to check desserts, paying attention to the barcode to check if the chocolate treats come from the Netherlands, and the expiration date to verify that they are from dangerous batches.

Of the affected batches of the Mars dessert, the first numbers on the barcode are 550, 551, 52, 553, 601, 602, 603. The expiration date described is August 7, 2016 - October 16, 2016.

For Snickers, the affected batches start with the same barcode numbers, but the expiration date is July 3, 2016 - December 11, 2016. Milky Way barcodes are the same. The expiration date is September 4, 2016 - January 8, 2017.

The barcode of dangerous batches Selebration starts with some of the following barcodes - 550, 551, 553, 601, 602, 603, 605, 606 and 607. The expiration date is between 19 June 2016 and 29 August 2016.
