The dressing for a certain type of salad can be prepared from different products, but there are also some universal dressings that fit almost all salads.
Until recently popular in Bulgaria as a cold sauce, dressing is perhaps the most important thing to make a salad really tasty. Here are some of the most common dressing recipes and instructions on how to prepare them.
Dressing 1000 islands
Necessary products: 1 egg, 200 ml olive oil, 1/2 onion, 1 roasted and peeled red pepper, 6 tbsp ketchup, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tbsp wine vinegar, 2 tbsp. lemon juice, salt to taste.
Method of preparation: In a deep bowl, mix the oil with the egg and beat the products with a blender until you get mayonnaise. Before thickening, pour the grated onion and finely chopped pepper. Add the remaining spices, beating everything with a blender until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Dressing Nice
Necessary products: 1 clove garlic, 1/2 cucumber, 1 tsp tarragon, 1 tsp mustard, 1/2 tsp anchovy pate, 50 ml apple cider vinegar, 150 ml olive oil, 2 pinches sugar.
Method of preparation: Cucumber and garlic are chopped very finely and mixed with other products and spices.
Dressing Tartar
Necessary products: 2 egg yolks, 2 cups coffee oil, 1 pickle, 1/2 onion, 6- 7 olives, 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp finely chopped parsley, salt and pepper to taste
Method of preparation: Beat the yolks and oil until you get a mayonnaise sauce. Add the finely chopped pickles, grated onion, parsley and chopped olives. Add the mustard, salt and pepper to taste.
Dressing vinaigrette
Necessary products: 1/2 cup oil, 4 tbsp vinegar, 1 onion, 2 hard-boiled eggs, 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley, 1 tsp mustard, salt and pepper to taste.
Method of preparation: The oil and vinegar are mixed. To them add the planed eggs and onions, finely chopped parsley, mustard, salt and pepper and mix everything well. You can also add finely chopped pickles.
