When the Venetian Marco Polo returned in 1295 from his trip to East Asia, he had much to tell. However, people did not believe everything. For example, that the Chinese paid for their purchases with banknotes and not with gold or silver coins.

It also seemed incredible to them that the Chinese ate mostly rice and pasta - thin and very long dough tubes. But how exactly was the issue with spaghetti (pasta)? To establish the truth, the Venetians tried to make pasta, which later became known throughout the country as spaghetti.

Here is an original recipe for making spaghetti, proposed by the famous chef Asen Chaushev.

Necessary products: 500 g if possible original Italian spaghetti, 1 tablespoon oil, salt, 2 tablespoons sugar, 250 g minced meat, 1 large onion, a large clove of garlic, 500 g fleshy tomatoes, 2 tablespoons olive oil, ½ a teaspoon of oregano, ½ a tablespoon of basil, ½ a teaspoon spoon thyme, 1 tablespoon sweet paprika, a little tomato juice or ketchup, 100 g grated Parmesan cheese, butter, lettuce.

Put in a large bowl 4 liters of water to boil. Add salt and olive oil and dip the spaghetti carefully. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes on low heat, stirring lightly and trying not to overcook. Drain well in a colander.

The sauce is prepared as follows: in the hot oil fry the finely chopped onion and crushed garlic clove, add the minced meat and fry everything while stirring constantly. add the chopped tomatoes and spices.

The mixture is mixed well and allowed to simmer for about 15 minutes. The density of the meat sauce depends on the tomatoes, so you may need to add liquid (preferably tart white wine). The sauce should not be thick.

Mix the drained spaghetti well with the prepared sauce, distribute in portions in fireproof bowls, sprinkle with grated Parmesan (thick layer) and squirt oil ribbons on top. In a preheated grill or oven (top heating), bake the portions until the grated cheese is golden in color.

Serve on a green salad in a large salad bowl. Spaghetti is accompanied by red wine.
