The data of the National Statistical Institute show that for the last quarter the consumption of bread, pasta, dairy products and vegetables in our country has decreased.
According to official data, vegetable consumption fell from 30.3 kilograms to 28.4 kilograms. Consumption of bread and pasta has fallen from 24.5 kilograms to 22.9 kilograms in the last 3 months.
In the case of fresh milk, there has also been a decrease in consumption over the last 3 months, with consumption falling from 4.9 liters to 4.4 liters. Consumption of yoghurt is also lower, with values from 7.2 kilograms falling to 6.8 kilograms.
Cheese consumption for the last 3 months is also lower by 2 kilograms.
Fruits also decreased in consumption - from 20.2 kg to 19.6 kg, oil - from 3.5 liters to 3.2 liters, potatoes - from 7.5 kilograms to 6.9 kilograms, and eggs - from 35 to 34.
The consumption of meat, meat products, ripe beans and sugar remained unchanged.
One household has spent an average of BGN 187 on water. For alcoholic beverages, each person has spent an average of BGN 49 for the last 3 months.
On average, BGN 379 was spent on food and non-alcoholic beverages per household member in the third quarter. One household, on the other hand, has spent an average of BGN 965.70 on food and soft drinks in the last 3 months.
As absolute values, they decreased by 2.2% compared to the third quarter of 2013, and on an annual basis decreased by 0.8%.
Average consumption per household member includes the quantities of food and beverages consumed at home, and consumption in catering establishments has not been statistically analyzed.
The NSI also reported that the prices of grapes, eggs, milk, tomatoes and cucumbers increased in October.
