Gone are the days when bananas were sold only at Christmas and only in showy stores. Then our parents waited patiently in line and bought a specific amount of bananas. Then they brought the precious fruits home and there was a joy, it's hard to describe.

With the fit ones, the fame of bananas spread in proportion to their affordability. Now most people are convinced that the delicious tropical fruit, which can be easily bought from any stall on the market, is a superfood. And they are right and not quite.

Naturally ripe bananas are extremely useful. Their moderate consumption provides energy for our body. One banana a day is enough to cover ¼ of the recommended daily dose of vitamin B6.

In addition, their flesh contains an abundance of vitamin E and vitamin C. Bananas are rich in calcium, iron, phosphorus and sodium, which play an exceptional role in maintaining heart health.

Then what's the problem? In fact, there are several problems. Everyone who exercises and adheres to a low-carb diet should be careful with bananas in their daily menu.

These fruits are extremely rich in carbohydrates. The sugar contained in them leads to sharp fluctuations in insulin levels in the body. So instead of satisfying you qualitatively, the banana simply dulls the initial hunger and only half an hour after consuming it you are even hungrier.

But the main problem with bananas is the way they are transported and stored. What none of the vendors in the market tell you is how these tropical fruits reach his stall.

Banana growers pick them while they are still green.

The bananas are then cooled to 13 degrees and placed in containers with a protected gas-tight environment. In this way they are transported to every point of the globe.

When they arrive at the end of their journey, they are placed in gas chambers, where they mature in just a few days with advances in chemistry, physics and genetic engineering.

And while naturally ripe bananas contain only ¼ carbohydrates - starch and useful cellulose, when they go through gas and heat treatment, all carbohydrates in their composition are converted into ordinary sugar.

Consumption of forcibly ripe bananas is not just not good - it can be harmful to your health. In addition to the obvious disadvantages of consuming harmful carbohydrates with a high glycemic index, bananas increase blood viscosity.

Increased blood viscosity leads to a decrease in blood flow (reduced blood supply) to parts of the body.

This leads to the potential danger of developing or aggravating erectile dysfunction in men, as well as to the deterioration of the condition of blood vessels in people who suffer from varicose veins.
