The skin is the body's first protective barrier against the effects of the environment. Because it is in direct contact with the world around us, it is most often affected by allergic reactions. It should be borne in mind that diseases of certain organs or tissues may also be manifested on the skin.

Allergic reactions are diverse: atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis (eczema), neurodermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema, allergic vasculitis, drug reactions on the skin, etc.

Prophylactic measures should be taken to minimize the recurrence of skin reactions. One of these measures is to control the foods we eat on a daily basis. It is important to exclude from the menu foods that are allergens - products rich in histamine or stimulating its release (strawberries, tomatoes, seafood, alcohol and others). Also spicy, hot or fried dishes, smoked or marinated, foods high in sugars and simple carbohydrates (pastes, cakes and others).

Foods that support the renewal and regeneration of skin cells should be consumed. Allowed foods in the presence of skin allergies are:

- vegetables: cucumbers, cabbage, lettuce, dill, zucchini, turnips, pumpkin, parsley, spinach;

- porridges: oat, rice, corn, barley, buckwheat, mixed with mineral water;

This regimen should last at least 2-3 weeks. If there is an improvement, "forbidden" foods can be included in the menu one by one and at intervals of at least 3 days. If an allergic reaction occurs again, then the product is an allergen. Ultimately, the cause of skin allergies must be determined and the appropriate diet is prescribed by a specialist individually for each case.

Today, the variety of foods is huge, so you can easily replace some products with others that are not so harmful to our body and the end result is the same.

In addition to a hypoallergenic diet, people need to take proper care of their skin in their daily lives. These include: well-hydrated skin, use water with body temperature, avoid direct skin contact with fragrances and any chemicals and detergents, protection from the sun, regular ventilation, use of hypoallergenic pillows and mattresses.
