A project called Culinary Traditions and Innovation has started in Ruse. It will be implemented by Ivan P. Pavlov Vocational School of Tourism in partnership with Stefan Banulexu Technical High School in Calarasi, Romania.
The project focuses on building a sustainable international partnership in the field of education and on turning Ruse into a significant cultural center in the Danube region internationally.
The project will include several culinary initiatives, as well as other interesting youth events. Ten native and ten Bulgarian students will take part in them. They will cook and present dishes typical for both countries.
From the Bulgarian side will be prepared lamb chop in Ruse, ritual bread, catfish with garnish, buttermilk, accompanied by walnuts.
The Romanian participants will impress the hosts with lamb belly, sour chicken soup with homemade noodles, fishpond, smoked pork leg with beans. The presented recipes are selected by graduates of the two schools in Calarasi and Ruse.
One of the accents in the work of the young chefs will be the combination of tradition with innovation in the culinary art, said chef Ivaylo Dimitrov, quoted by DariknewsBg.
Among the main ideas, according to him, is for students to get to know the roots of their national cuisine, while at the same time learning to use new cooking techniques that are consistent with a healthy diet.
Tomorrow's program of the project will start at 9.00 am with a joint show-cooking, which will take place in the Training and Production Building of the Vocational School of Tourism Ivan P. Pavlov - town. Ruse.
The day will continue with a technical conference on New Trends in the Presentation of Traditional Dishes, as well as a culinary exhibition of traditional Bulgarian and Romanian dishes.
Culinary traditions and innovation will be held from 13.30 to 15.30 in the Revenue Building of Ruse. As part of the initiative, a tour of the city of Ruse will be made, including a visit to the Regional History Museum.
