Melt-in-your-mouth apple pie is especially popular in France. This cake is seasonal and the fruits in it can be replaced with what nature offers - cherries, strawberries, plums, raspberries.

For the French pastry you need two eggs, two hundred and fifty grams of margarine, four teaspoons of flour, three quarters of a teaspoon of sugar, half a teaspoon of salt, half a teaspoon of baking soda.

For the filling you need five large apples or one kilogram of seasonal fruit, as well as half a cup of sugar. Grate the apples on a large grater, and in the case of cherries or sour cherries, remove the stones.

Mix the fruit with the sugar and add one vanilla and a pinch of cinnamon. Prepare the dough. Mix the eggs with the sugar until white.

Add the softened margarine, salt, baking soda quenched with a few drops of vinegar, sifted flour and knead a soft dough.

Separate a quarter of the finished dough and put it in the freezer. Divide the remaining dough into two parts. Put one part in a pan that is greased with oil and sprinkled with flour.

Using a small rolling pin, spread the dough all over the pan. Pour the grated apples over the dough. Cover the fruit with the rest of the dough. If you can't completely cover the fruit, don't worry.

Take the dough out of the freezer and grate it on a large grater. Spread the sawdust over the entire surface of the cake and bake in a medium oven for half an hour.

Serve, sprinkled with powdered sugar, in the company of a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
