The American fast food chain Burger King is selling a special black burger in Japan. The bread, cheese and ketchup of this sandwich are colored black. And although the anthracite burger doesn't look particularly appetizing, it is expected to become a real hit in the Land of the Rising Sun, news agencies report.

The new Kuro Burger (kuroi in Japanese means black) will be available for a limited time. The burnt-out bread has acquired its dark color thanks to bamboo charcoal, which is often used in traditional Japanese cuisine.

The cheese in the sandwich is also darkened with this material. The beef burger also has a black sauce made from cuttlefish ink, widely used by world chefs to darken food. Black pepper, garlic powder and soy sauce were also used in making the dish.

In fact, this isn't the first time Burger King has launched black burgers. The specific sandwich was introduced in 2012. So far, it has been offered to customers three times and each time it has been received with enthusiasm. Now there are some improvements on it.

The black burger will be available in two varieties. The main Kuro Pearl, which has cheese and sauce, costs 480 yen ($ 4.49). The other Kuro Diamond sandwich contains a simple-looking salad, tomato, onion and mayonnaise. It will sell for 690 yen ($ 6.45). The innovative burgers will be available only until the beginning of November.

However, Burger King is not the only chain that impresses its customers with black foods. Opso in London has launched a black fish burger, which is not inferior to the Kuro Burger. The French chain Quick also surprised with an interesting black sandwich in 2012. Then she delighted all Star Wars fans with a burger called Darth Vader.

Three years earlier, the jelly candy company Bompas and Parr impressed with black truffles, blueberries and caviar. With this, the producers aimed to show that black food is no less tasty than the rest and people should not ignore it just because of the dark color.
