The traditional tomato battle at the Tomatina Festival took place in Spain these days. In our country, however, we prefer to put tomatoes in jars. The dress rehearsal for the event took place yesterday in Sofia. From noon the participants started preparing the traditional Bulgarian product. They roasted peppers, cut tomatoes and peeled eggplant, arranging the products in huge trays. They were provided with a total of 75 kilograms of peppers so that they could receive fifty kilograms lyutenitsa.
The master of lutenitsa Angel Angelov shared some subtleties in making lutenitsa in front of Nova TV. According to him, in order for the product to become tasty, it must be prepared from quality vegetables.
The specialist pointed out that the preparation of lyutenitsa is not quick, so one must have taken enough time and patience to mix the mixture. The organizers of the festival say that for the convenience of the guests there will be a separate area for pitching tents. The place will be cleaned and dewormed. The organizers also invite those wishing to camp to register in advance in order to be able to provide enough outdoor fireplaces.
