The idea to make a dessert from sweetened pasta came to Americans decades ago. One of the oldest recipes recommends cooking pasta in fresh milk to soak into pasta. Before cooking, you can lightly fry them while they are still dry, so that they become more crispy on the surface of the dessert.
In a small saucepan, boil one liter of fresh milk, add 120 grams of pasta and cook for 6 minutes, stirring constantly. Then cool to a temperature slightly above room temperature.
In a separate bowl beat 3 eggs, half a cup of sugar and beat until smooth. The finished mixture is added to the milk with the pasta, stir, add 1 teaspoon of grated lemon peel, 1 vanilla and, if desired - half a cup of raisins.
Stir once more and pour into a greased pan. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 40 minutes.
The finished dessert is cooled, cut into pieces and served, garnished with whipped cream and fruit.
Pasta dessert is also prepared with cottage cheese. You need 250 grams of pasta, 500 grams of cottage cheese, 3 eggs, 200 grams of sour cream, half a cup of raisins, half a cup of sugar, 1 vanilla.
Beat the eggs with the sugar, add the cream, cottage cheese and vanilla and beat until smooth. Add the raisins and pour everything into a tall round pan greased with oil.
Bake for 45 minutes in a preheated 180 degree oven until golden brown on top. Serve hot or cold.
If you do not like raisins, you can not put them at all or for a more interesting and unusual taste to replace them with small pieces of chocolate.
Before serving the sweet pasta, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar or grated milk chocolate.
