Mastic is a very suitable choice for the summer heat, especially if it is very cold and served in the form of watermelon. The well-known recipe of watermelon and mastic is a very tasty combination to begin with, but it should be consumed in moderation, because drunk watermelon is so nice and cold that one may not feel how enchanted and drunk.
Filling the watermelon with the aniseed drink is actually done by injecting with a syringe. There are several options - some people cut it, others drink mastic and eat watermelon, but in fact a watermelon filled with mastic means just that - injected with the aniseed drink watermelon. Sounds more complicated than it actually is.
How to make watermelon with mastic and what do we need?
For starters, you must have watermelon and mastic to avoid any confusion, in addition, you will need a large syringe with a needle as thick as possible. If you have a small needle and syringe, filling may take too long.
You will need patience regardless of the size of the syringe, because the injection is difficult the first time, but the pleasure you will feel from consuming it later will confirm that the work on the recipe was definitely worth it.
You need to inject the mastic into the watermelon, but it's a good idea to do it in different parts of the watermelon, because some pieces of the fruit may fail to soak and others may become too intrusive on the anise.
If your watermelon is 10 kg, you will need a liter of mastic. It is good to put 100 ml. per kilogram of watermelon. Inject the alcohol carefully and slowly into the fruit. When you're done, immediately store the watermelon in the refrigerator and leave it to cool nicely, and the mastic to distribute - let it stand for at least 4 - 6 hours.
Then cut it as you like and cut it in general and eat with pleasure and moderation.
