Baklava is the most popular sweet temptation in Turkey. Or at least it was. Today, the first place in popularity among sweets is occupied by the dessert Trileche.

Trileche comes from the culture of the Albanians. After a study in Istanbul, it turns out that every second inhabitant of the city will certainly prefer the Trileche cake to the baklava.

More and more often at the entrance of confectioneries and fast food restaurants in the country you can see a large inscription - Here we offer Trileche. Elite restaurants compete to offer pastries.

The master chefs compete in its preparation and everyone claims that his is the most original. Even the most popular invitation - To drink coffee, is increasingly being replaced by - Let's go eat Trileche.

Recently, a popular Turkish magazine made a list of the top 10 restaurants offering the most delicious three-legged friend in Istanbul and Ankara. All self-respecting master confectioners offer a variety of recipes for this dessert on the pages of all kinds of media.

Trilece is believed to be an Albanian national pastry. In Turkey, it is called the dessert of the former Yugoslavia. Turkish chefs, however, have three roots in Latin America. The word Trileche comes from the two Spanish words - Tres and Leches, i.e. three types of milk.

One of the first recipes for the preparation of Trilecheno is found in Spanish cookbooks from the 19th century. It is closest to roaring with glaze, syruped with three types of milk and cream.

In Turkey, Trilecheto was transported through Albania after the wars in the former Yugoslavia by Albanian emigrants.

Whatever its origin, however - South American or Albanian, the popularity and consumption of Trileche cake has already surpassed that of sweet baklava.

One of the facts that helps this happen is that the three-leaf clover is cheaper than the baklava. Recently, the price of the company's baklava jumped to the phenomenal 20 euros per kilogram. If you haven't tried it yet, be sure to do so.
