The history of the avant-garde work of Turkish confectionery - Rahat Lokuma, begins somewhere in the Oriental Middle Ages. Its name comes from the Arabic language, which means "sweetness for the throat." His appearance is shrouded in mystery and legend. Rahat Lokuma gained incomparable fame throughout the Ottoman Empire, and beyond. It has become a popular specialty in the Balkans and the Middle East. It was imported to Western Europe in the 19th century, where it became a wonderful addition to the tea of exquisite English tea parties.
Over the years, chocolate, hazelnuts, almonds, cinnamon, lemon peel, pistachios, honey and fruit have been added to Rahat Lokuma to satisfy the diverse tastes.

Necessary products
1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp. water, 1 tsp. cornstarch, 1 tsp. powdered sugar, 1/5 tsp. vanilla, a pinch of lemon juice
Method of preparation
Mixing the sugar with the water, prepare the syrup. Pour in the starch and boil until it becomes a thick paste. Finally, add the lemon juice and vanilla.
After cooking, the resulting slightly cooled mass is poured into a pan lined with parchment paper. Allow to cool and thicken. After 4 hours, cut into rectangular pieces, which are rolled in powdered sugar. Arrange in a dry cardboard box. For a beautiful color and interesting taste vrakhat-Turkish delight can be added, when cooking, not much fruit juice or jam.
