As a continuation of the increasingly topical issue of the quality of food and beverages we buy, came the news of the presence of harmful wine, which is freely sold in stores for some time.
Fortunately, counterfeit wine is now out of business. Following a signal from the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA), inspectors of the Executive Agency for Vine and Wine (EAVW) inspected the unregistered producer of the pseudo-wine drink. It is located in the town of Strazhitsa, Veliko Tarnovo region.
After the inspection, the presence of two batches of bottled wines was established, which during laboratory analysis in the Testing Laboratory of the EAVW was proven to be "fake" within the meaning of the Wine and Spirits Act.
The wines "Bolyarsko - Cabernet Sauvignon" and "Bolyarski - Muscat", which are produced by the company "Stevens 67" EOOD, turned out to be dangerous for health. The counterfeits were found to contain artificial colors, synthetic dye and orthophosphoric acid. Both types of wine were bottled in plastic cups of 2 liters.
According to EAVW inspectors, counterfeit wine is really harmful to human health and all legal measures and actions have been taken to seize and withdraw the products from the trade network.
The EAVW continuously inspects stock exchanges, warehouses and shops for the supply, type and sale of wines throughout the country. The origin of the products, the documentation and the content of the offered drinks are strictly monitored.
The Executive Agency for Vine and Wine also receives signals for any established unregulated productions and sales of wine.
