On October 25 is World Pasta Day, which is one of the favorite foods of millions of people around the world. Pasta and other Italian specialties have their day since 1995.

World Pasta Day was established by the Congress of Pasta Manufacturers, held in Rome in 1995. Then the producers decided to honor the Italian specialties.

Pasta is a generalizing concept of the variety of pasta dishes. This food is divided into two main groups - dried pasta and fresh pasta.

According to statistics, 14 billion pasta dishes are cooked worldwide in one year.

A survey in Italy showed that 44% of Italians eat pasta every day. In Italian cuisine, all kinds of dishes can be prepared from pasta, even moussaka.

According to some sources, pasta first appeared in Sicily in 1154, but their production technique was known to the ancient Greeks and Romans, although not in our familiar form.

For the most popular paste - Carbonara, is believed to have been created in the 19th century by the Carbonari, who were a group of secret revolutionaries fighting for the unification of Italy.

However, some documentary evidence suggests that the recipe came from a family of coal miners.

In Carbonara's original recipe, pasta is mixed with eggs, pork, black pepper and Pecorino cheese. Later, garlic, onion, parsley and cream were added to the recipe.

The point of World Pasta Day is to draw media and consumer attention to pasta. It should be emphasized that pasta is a global food that is consumed in various parts of the world.

Real and quality pasta is cooked for 5-6 minutes in slightly salted water with a little butter or olive oil. Then garnish with sauces of different taste, color and texture.

For example, the well-known pesto sauce is used for spaghetti, while tomato sauce is more suitable for thick pasta.
