According to the data, an average statistical family in Malaysia spends $ 35 on fish. Fish and seafood are the dominant meat on the table of Malaysians, who until a few years ago were more likely to eat chicken.

37% of households in Malaysia eat fish every day, and 54% - at least 3 times a week.

Malaysians mainly consume mackerel, shrimp, squid and catfish. Mackerel is the most preferred fish by Malaysians, while the Chinese, for example, prefer salmon.

Currently, about 5-6 thousand tons of freshwater fish are harvested in Bulgaria, but at the same time low-quality frozen products are imported.

According to experts, our country has unique natural resources for industrial fish farming, and since 2009 aquaculture has the opportunity to apply for European funding projects. However, this has not led to a serious increase in our production.

There is no tradition in Bulgaria to regularly consume fish, so the consumption of seafood in our country is low.

On this occasion, in the districts of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven and Lovech launched an information campaign that will disseminate materials highlighting the benefits of fishery products.
