Switching from one season to another requires some changes in our menu. How to eat in the fall?

In order to be healthy and energetic during the colder days of the year, it is good to adjust our menu to the meteorological features. Here's what healthy eating in the fall includes, according to the nutritionist Prof. Donka Baikova.

The nutritionist recommends emphasizing more in the winter seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs. Of particular importance are those plants that have bactericidal properties.

These are, for example, onions and garlic, Prof. Baykova told FOCUS.

Of course, animal products should also be present in our menu. Dairy foods, eggs, fish and light meats are something we should not deprive ourselves of.

And legumes are a must for our table. During autumn you can switch to beans, lentils, peas or other lean foods 2-3 days a week.

Quinoa, rice and millet are suitable food for the autumn season. Mushrooms are also a useful product that can be added to both meat and lean dishes.

However, Prof. Baykova did not fail to mention something else important. To be healthy and fit on cold days, we should not rely only on food but also on exercise.

A daily walk (even if only for 30 minutes) in the fresh air further strengthens the immune system and helps us to be in good shape.
