Cooking: About 3 cups should come out of the soaked chickpeas. In a large bowl, mix chickpeas and water, and the ratio to be observed is 1: 3 - 3 cups of cold water add 3 cups of cold water.
Cover with a lid until boiling. Remove the lid slightly to the side, reduce the heat and simmer for 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours.
Depending on what it will be used for, it can be removed after 60 minutes - it is slightly hard, suitable for salads and soups.
If you want to use it for hummus or creamy cream, let it cook to the desired texture. If necessary, you can add more water. Once the cooking is finished, it should be drained.
Store cooked chickpeas in a covered container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
It can be frozen in an airtight container or in a bag and stored in the freezer for up to 1 year, although the quality will be best if used before 6 months.
The question with raw chickpeas. When choosing to buy raw chickpeas, it is advisable to pay attention to eaten or sprouted areas. Sprouted chickpeas spoil very quickly and are unfit for consumption. Raw chickpeas are stored for up to 1 year in a dark, cool and dry place to prevent germination.
