There are many factors that determine weight, the most important of which are, of course, diet and exercise. The quality of food is directly related to the accumulation of extra pounds - says Professor Yordan Yordanov, who is director of the Institute of Experimental Morphology and Anthropology at BAS.

According to the expert, the key point in gaining weight is not so much the genes, but very simple things, such as what we put on our table every day to eat.

The head of the Clinic of Endocrinology at the Alexandrovska Hospital in Sofia, Professor Zdravko Kamenov, said that there was an unhealthy weight gain both nationally and globally.

According to him, three main factors lead to weight gain - immobility, eating too much and stress.

Family scandals have also caused men to gain weight, and quarrels at home could change the taste of the dishes served, a recent US study showed.
