The famous Russian kvass, which has been the most popular soft drink of the Russians for hundreds of years, can also be made from vegetables and fruits.

The classic yeast is made from dried bread, which is poured with boiling water, sugar, yeast and mint are added. When it "boils" after a few days, it is poured into bottles and two or three raisins are added to each.

People who are born outside of Russia do not always perceive this drink positively. That's why it has fruit variants as well as vegetable ones.

For example, to make cucumber yeast, you need 5 liters of cucumber juice.

It is prepared by cutting the washed cucumbers into circles 2 cm thick and soaking them in slightly salted water / 20 g of salt per 1 liter of water / to remove the bitterness.

The circles are then washed and placed in a juicer. This juice is boiled, then cooled to 30-35 degrees and filtered through gauze.

However, you also need 4.5 liters of tomato juice. For this purpose, the finely chopped tomatoes are heated to 70-75 g in an enameled dish and rubbed through a sieve to obtain juice.

Then cut them into small pieces and rub them through a sieve. Mix the two juices and puree, add 80 g of salt and 120 g of sugar, mix well and pour into bottles. It is sterilized.

Apple cider is easier to make. You need 5 kg of medium apples, which are cleaned from the core and cut into quarters.

Fill them with 2.5 liters of water, boil them until completely soft. Rub the apples with water through a sieve, strain through gauze, pour into a glass jar. Add 400 g of sugar and 10 g of yeast, stir and pour into bottles.

You close them and lie them down in a cool place. In three days the most wonderful apple yeast is ready.
