Marigold herb is used in folk medicine for the treatment of liver diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, nervous tension. In fact, more than 20 (according to some information more than 30) species of marigold are known in Bulgaria.
Marigold tea also helps with problems with the spleen and pancreas, cleanses the kidneys, and is used to relieve depression. It is often recommended for cirrhosis of the liver, in addition, marigold can relieve inflammatory swelling of acute rheumatoid arthritis.
The herb is also used externally, having a very good effect on recurrent boils - they are sprinkled with dried and powdered herb. Helps with fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, can save you from worms.
The naturopath Maria Treben also uses the herb for various diseases of the thyroid gland. Treben claims that she was able to cure laryngeal and tongue cancer only with the help of calendula tea and herbal rinses.
The healing part of the plant is the stem along with the flowers.
Make a decoction of common marigold by putting 2 tsp on the stove. water. After boiling, add to it 4 tsp. of the herb and allow to cool. Finally strain and drink for a day.
The decoction is made using 2 tsp. from the marigold, as the herb has been finely chopped beforehand. Pour 400 ml of boiling water over them. Leave the herb in the water to soak and cool. Then you have to strain and drink for a day.
In case of a problem with the internal secretion of the thyroid gland, in Bulgarian folk medicine, the following recipe is used:
- In 1 liter of hot water soak 2 tsp. of the herb marigold. Leave the mixture to stand for 60 minutes and then take the decoction 3 times a day. You can also gargle with it.
If you suffer from dandruff, you can rinse your hair with a decoction of the herb. It is not recommended for use by pregnant women, nor should it be overused - overdoses can cause internal bleeding.
