In the lower parts of almost all Bulgarian mountains, as well as in many shady bushes, grows a miraculous herb. It is a perennial plant that looks like ordinary grass, but the stems protruding from its roots attract the attention of most mountaineers.
Naturally, any herbalist who sees this herb will immediately recognize that it is the so-called scarecrow, which is also known as secretive or pigeon eyes. Here is what is interesting to learn about the scarecrow and how and what it is used in folk medicine:

"If you've ever seen a scarecrow, you'll easily distinguish it from ordinary herbaceous plants by its purple and light blue colors." Scarecrows with white or pink flowers are also rare. Their healing powers are no less.
- The composition of the scarecrow includes saponins, tannins, anemones, resin and others.
- The scarecrow has expectorant and diuretic effects. It is recommended for people suffering from bronchitis, bile and bile duct problems.
- In folk medicine, scarecrow is also used for malaria, rheumatism, gonorrhea, spleen inflammation, gout and even severe fear. 1/2 teaspoon of the herb is poured with 500 ml. boiling water and stand for 1 hour. Drink this decoction 1/2 hour before meals.
- The herb can be used externally by making a compress of it. It has antiseptic and anti-infective effects. It is also used for baths for skin diseases.
- It is very important to know that the scarecrow is poisonous and in no case should you use it in large doses, but only in the above.
It is best to consult in advance with an experienced herbalist, who will personally make you a decoction of scarecrow and consume it according to his instructions.
- If you do not know what the scarecrow looks like, do not try to pick it yourself, as you may come across another herb with completely different properties or even one that is highly poisonous.
