Lofant is a perennial plant with unique medicinal and culinary qualities. In their natural environment, the fragrant stalks reach two meters in height. As a cultivated spice it is widely used in countries such as China, Japan, USA and others.

Homemade ice cream with lofant
Necessary products: 60-70 fresh lofant leaves, 300 g lemons, 300 ml whole milk, 200 ml sweet whipping cream, 6 egg yolks, 200 g sugar
Method of preparation: An empty storage box is placed in the refrigerator.
Lemons are cut into large pieces. Strain together with half the sugar and 10 fresh lofant leaves.
In another bowl, beat the yolks with the remaining sugar until you get a creamy mixture. Pour the milk and cream into a saucepan and place on the hob. Add the remaining lofant. Boil for 5 minutes, then allow to simmer for another 10 minutes. The mixture is filtered.
The yolks are added to the milk and cream. Stir with a wooden spoon. Return to low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly.
Remove the mixture from the heat. Lemongrass lemon puree is added to it.
The box is taken out of the freezer and ¾ from it is filled with the resulting mixture. If it remains, it is placed in another container. Place the box in the refrigerator until cool, then transfer to the freezer. It is not covered.
After 30 minutes, remove and stir. After another 30 minutes, repeat the procedure until the ice cream is completely frozen. Remove 20 minutes before consumption to relax slightly.
Lemonade with lofant
Necessary products: 150 fresh lophanthus leaves, 1 liter of water, juice and peel of 1 lemon, honey
Method of preparation: Lofanta leaves are boiled in a liter of water for 5 minutes. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes. The mixture is filtered. Wait for it to cool slightly, then add the juice of 1 lemon and grated lemon peel. Add honey to taste. Dilute with water to a total of 3 liters of lemonade. Cool and serve.
