It is an increasingly common practice for manufacturers to mask the word "vegetable fat" with the actual presence of "hydrogenated fat" in products. When we talk about vegetable fat, we mean oil, olive oil and other vegetable oils that occur freely in nature in a liquid state. In its free form, palm oil is also in a liquid state before being hydrogenated. Hydrogenated is artificially enriched with hydrogen atoms.
Hydrogenated fat is widely used as a substitute for cocoa butter in chocolate products, cow butter in puff pastry products, the production of ice cream, waffles, chips and all kinds of treats. When you eat a croissant or pie and feel that something is sticking to your palate and teeth, you have certainly come across this type of fat.
The widespread use of these fats is due to a lack of information. The number of products it contains is not clear. In addition to food production, hydrogenated fat is also used in soap. Recently, it has been added en masse to yogurt, for better density and structure of this world-famous product.
Hydrogenated fats have a number of negative qualities. In the first place is the real danger of decay of the newly formed molecule and the release of some of the additionally added hydrogen atoms. As a result, the so-called free radicals that easily bind to other substances or the like and turn into cancer - tumor and cancer.
Many of these fats have a melting point of 40-42 degrees, which is higher than body fat. When they enter the gastrointestinal tract, they stick to the inside of the intestine and form an oil layer that stops their normal function.
To get rid of this hydrogenated fat, we need to eat more foods rich in fiber and cellulose. However, this is not enough, as there is always a period of cleansing of the body, if at all possible. But even during this period we are in danger of something even more dangerous.
In the combination of hot tea or hot soup and fat adhering to the gastrointestinal tract, they melt due to the higher temperature of the drink and are absorbed by the intestines into the blood. Plaques form in the blood vessels, causing heart attacks and strokes. Limb amputation can also occur.
In the United States, the use of this hydrogenated fat is completely banned in food preparation. However, they are freely added to fast food and especially to McDonald's. Excessive use of trans fats is also recognized in Bulgaria as a factor in the large number of cardiovascular diseases. However, no measures have been taken to limit them.
This policy is followed by many governments, as large profits enter the treasury from large profitable producers. And a lot is gained from hydrogenated fats, as they drastically reduce costs and increase the shelf life of products. They are almost twice as cheap on the market and this makes them attractive to most buyers.
