Lovers of harmful foods such as chips claim that they can not gather the will and give up their favorite delicacy because its taste is irresistible.

In fact, people consume harmful foods not only because of their taste, but also out of habit. Associations between place and product are formed in people's minds.

This is the case, for example, with movies and popcorn. This association causes people to cram in a huge amount of popcorn while watching a movie, given that they would not otherwise be able to eat that much.

The habit becomes so strong that a person is able to eat even popcorn that has been around for a long time, just because he is used to being automatically trampled while in front of the big screen.

In an experiment conducted with about a hundred volunteers, they were given popcorn before entering the cinema. Half of the popcorn was fresh, the others were made a week ago.

Viewers who were not in the habit of eating popcorn during a movie refused to eat the old popcorn. Those who were addicted to this habit ate all the popcorn.

It becomes clear that circumstances are something like a button to include the desire to consume a particular product. People think that taste matters the most.

But when a person has a certain habit, the taste of his favorite food does not matter much to him, the brain gets pleasure from the feeling that everything is there - in this case, the movie and popcorn.

A person who likes to consume a certain product in a certain situation will prefer to eat it, even if it is not fresh, over another who is not used to consuming in this situation.
