For Italians, coffee is considered a universal means of good digestion and it is always drunk after a meal or instead, but never before or during a meal, also sweets are served alone, and then coffee as a preserved ritual.

In general, for an Italian, breakfast is a small snack. in most cases it is done on foot, on the go, sipping cappuccino and eating a sweet muffin with chocolate. This is the only time when the Italian allows himself to eat on the go.

In many places in Italy there are small snack bars with the inscription "Fast hot breakfast", but these snack bars are intended only for tourists. A self-respecting Italian would never allow himself to go in for breakfast at such a restaurant.
