The darlings they remind me of childhood, of carefreeness, of warmth, of coziness, of home. I remember the winter evenings when my grandmother makes delicious sweets and I stand next to her and help her by kneading and arranging them in the pan.

Or how I come home dripping from games and feel the irresistible scent of cuties right from the door.

Over time, I learned the recipe by heart and now I enjoy making them for my family. These are the easiest cuties and we don't think that even the biggest layman in the kitchen will have a hard time making them.

Here is ours recipe for beginners for cuties from childhood:

Fresh milk - 1 tsp.

Dry yeast - 1 sachet

Sugar - 1/2 tsp.

Salt - 1 tsp.

Flour - 500-600 g

For topping

Butter - 125 g

Flour - 2 tbsp.

Salt - 1/2 tsp.

The milk is warmed very slightly. Dissolve the yeast, sugar and a tablespoon of flour in it. Stir well and leave at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes. The goal is to activate the yeast. You will easily find out if this process has taken place after the volume of the mixture has increased and bubbles have formed on its surface. While waiting for the yeast to activate, sift the flour.

Then add salt to the mixture and start adding a little flour, stirring initially with a wooden spoon. When it thickens too much, you need to switch to kneading by hand. Add flour and knead until you get a soft and non-stick dough, then wrap the bowl with the dough with cling film and a towel and let it stand for about 2 hours.

Knead the dough again and form a few balls (the size of a walnut) from it. Arrange in a pre-greased or lined with baking paper tray, leaving a distance of about 1 finger between the balls. Wrap again with a towel and wait for the dough to rise a second time.

While you wait, you can make the mixture for the filling. Melt the butter slightly and mix it with the flour and salt. Stir until a paste is obtained.

After about an hour cuties they must be swollen and ready for baking. Pour evenly with the oil mixture and place the pan in a preheated 200 degree oven.

30 minutes later, your room will smell irresistibly of freshly baked cuties.

Remove the pan, lightly spray the cuties with water and cover them with a dry, clean cloth.

Note: Baking time may vary depending on the power of the oven. In some ovens, the cuties are ready after 20 minutes, in others - after 40. You can judge for yourself after the crunchy crust forms on top.
