Tequila is not made from cacti, as most connoisseurs of this drink believe. It is prepared from the agave plant, which grows in Mexico.

Tequila can be "golden" - young tequila with added caramel, which is widely consumed in Germany. Cinnamon and orange are added for a more refined taste.

"Silver" tequila is the most common, it is a transparent strong drink that is drunk, with the drinker sprinkling salt on his hand, which he licks after the cup and then adds a slice of lime or lemon. This tequila is ready in about two months.

Tequila, which has stood between two months and a year in oak barrels, has a richer taste. The most valuable is the one with a dark shade - it has stayed in the barrels for ten years.

Tequila got its name from the ancient people of the same name, who prepared it for the first time. There is also the city of Tequila, where 110 years ago they began to produce it in industrial quantities.

It is made in the states of Jalisco, Guanajuato, Nayarit, Michocan and Tamaulipas in Mexico from the blue agave plant. The plant is boiled over steam for about a day, then cut, the juice is squeezed and fermented with the help of yeast and cane sugar.

After eight days, double distillation is performed. After adding distilled water, the temperature of the drink drops to about 40-46 degrees.

If the bottle bears the name NOM, this means that the tequila complies with the official Mexican quality standard.
