Cereals are spread all over the globe. In Bulgaria we have the most favorable conditions for growing wheat in Dobrogea. Here are some recipes on how to cook wheat:

Wheat with biscuits

Necessary products: 200 g of wheat, 150 g of ordinary biscuits (1 package), 1 tsp. ground walnuts, 1 tsp. powdered sugar, cinnamon.

Preparation: Clean and wash the wheat several times with water. Fill it with two fingers of water over it. Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes after boiling. Then wash it and boil it for another 10 minutes.

Remove from the heat, close with a lid, wrap with a woolen blanket and leave for 1 night. In the morning the wheat swelled and absorbed all the water. To dry well spread on a towel. Then mix with pre-crushed biscuits and walnuts. Sprinkle with powdered sugar on top and garnish with cinnamon.

Sweet boiled wheat

Necessary products: 100 g of cooking wheat, 1 tsp. crushed walnuts, 1/2 tsp. raisins, 2 pcs. vanilla, 1 tbsp. cinnamon, powdered sugar.

Preparation: Boil the wheat until the grains crack. Drain and add the remaining products. Mix well. Distribute in bowls and is ready to serve.

Wheat pudding

Required products: 1 tsp. wheat, 125 g butter, grated rind of 1 lemon, 1 vanilla, 2 tsp. fresh milk, 4 eggs, 1 tsp. sugar.

Method of preparation: The wheat is boiled until completely soft and strained. Beat the sugar with the melted butter, vanilla and warm milk. This mixture is poured into the wheat. Add the yolks and grated lemon peel. Mix well.

Beat the egg whites on hard snow, pour into the pudding mixture. Mix everything gently with a wooden spoon. The pudding mixture is poured into a form with a non-stick coating and baked. The pudding is served cut into pieces, generously sprinkled with powdered sugar.

If desired, raisins and / or walnuts can be added to the mixture.

Wheat with walnuts and Turkish delight

Required products: 1/2 kg. wheat, 150 g biscuits, 150 g walnuts, 150 g Turkish delight, 150 g powdered sugar, 2 tbsp. lemon peel, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 pinch. sol

Method of rinsing: The wheat is washed and flooded with water. Allow to stand overnight. The next day, boil with the added salt until the grains crack. Then drain and spread on a cheesecloth. Allow to dry for several hours.

Then pour into a deep bowl and mix with ground walnuts, ground plain biscuits, grated lemon peel, cinnamon and diced Turkish delight. The products are mixed well. The wheat is served in bowls, sprinkled generously with powdered sugar.
