For the fourth year in a row, a rose festival will be organized in the town of Kazanlak, where winemakers will offer the best of their latest harvest.
The Rose Festival will be held this weekend in the lobby of the Iskra Chitalishte in the city, and you will be able to taste the best wines of the last year.
The initiative is on the occasion of the Rose Festival, and the organization was entrusted to the Municipality of Kazanlak and a private company.
The idea for the Rose Festival came from Anna Dundakova, a landscape architect in the sub-Balkan city.
The festival will feature a rose made from traditional Bulgarian varieties, and the organizers have included a folklore program with dance groups from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Russia and Hungary.
One of the traditional events for the Rose Festival is the exhibition - tasting of traditional bakery products. The bread of the Bulgarian - rite, way of life and faith. It starts at 5 pm on June 7 in the hall of the Information Center in Kazanlak.
The Rose Festival will end with a concert by Nikolina Chakardakova.
Although the festival is held in Kazanlak, recently Svilen Dimitrov, who is the executive director of Vinprom Svishtov AD and manager of Sakar AD, said that Svishtov produces the best rose in Bulgaria.
The reason for his words was the silver medal for Rose Aureos, which the winery in Svishtov has been producing for several years.
The medal was presented at the 20th anniversary edition of one of the world's largest wine competitions, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, held in Brussels last month.
Rose Aureos was the only Bulgarian wine that was awarded at the competition, and the iconic product is the best-selling rose in Bulgaria.
The competition was attended by over 300 world experts from 41 nationalities, including wine experts, sommelier and winemakers.
Over the years, the Svishtov Winery's rosette has won many awards from international competitions in France, Germany and the Czech Republic.
