Among traditional soy products, tempeh is the only one that does not originate from China or Japan. The birthplace of Tempe is Indonesia, its history is believed to date back 1,800 years or more. In America, tempo was first produced for commercial purposes in 1961 by Indonesian immigrants.

Selection and storage of tempo

Tempeh is used in burgers, fried in oil and vegetables, served as a side dish, put in soups, stews or fried dishes. Tempe goes well with seafood and fish. As it turned out, tempeh is extremely rich in protein, which makes it one of the healthiest substitutes for meat.
Marinated pace is a delicacy for the senses. The marinade requires 2 ½ tsp. soy sauce, 1 tbsp. olive oil, 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar, 1 tsp. rosemary, basil and thyme, 2 chopped garlic cloves. Cut the tempe into pieces and marinate it with the prepared mixture for about half an hour. The cut tempo absorbs more of the aroma of the spices and becomes tastier. Once it tastes good, fry it in oil.
For a delicious and healthy salad with pace you need a few pieces of tempeh, 2 tomatoes, 1 onion, parsley, 50 g sprouts, 1 tbsp. raw sesame seeds, soybean oil and soy sauce, a small cucumber and a stalk of fresh onion. Marinate the tempeh with soy sauce and grill it together with the onion. Cut the remaining products. Mix everything together and pour over a dressing of soy sauce and oil. Optionally, soak sesame seeds in water for a few hours before adding it to the salad.
Sometimes the tempo has a slightly bitter taste. To reduce the bitterness, put the tempeh in boiling water for about 10 minutes and then cook it according to the recipe you have decided.
