A new study of meat products offered on the Bulgarian market showed that one of the until recently considered traditional domestic products has nothing to do with its original recipe. This is beef sausage, in the production of which the producers not only do not use cow meat, but do not even use meat at all.

Despite the horrifying facts about the products from which they are made are the creation of sujuk, its price continues to hold relatively high prices. A kilogram of the suspicious delicacy is on average 25 leva. The disturbing facts were established by two independent laboratories. In their study, it was found that beef sausage was stuffed with colors and flavors, as well as meat of unknown origin, but certainly not beef.

It turns out that the otherwise delicious appetizer is full of harmful pork fat, poultry, pork skins, various tendons, potato starch and of course - glutamate. Preservatives and colorants written with E's are abundant in order to bring color and taste to the sujuk.

However, the main ingredient for the production of native sausage is potato starch, which in most cases accounts for 75 percent of it.

Starch, along with monosodium glutamate and the diphosphates that beef sausage is full of, can cause serious stomach upsets. According to nutritionists, after consuming such a product you may have abdominal pain and even vomiting.

Sodium glutamate is intentionally added to the product presented to us as sausage. This is the ingredient that affects our brain and makes us think that we are eating something incredibly tasty. It's not because you're greedy, but because glutamate makes you want to eat again.

Specialists from both laboratories have detected in 90 percent of the tested brands sujuk potassium sorbate, which is commonly used by the cosmetics industry in the production of face creams. When it accumulates in the body, it becomes toxic and leads to cancer.
