Interestingly, margaric acid from some dairy products significantly reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. And two saturated animal fats and finger-pointed palm oil have little to do with them.
Thus, the popular omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 arachidonic acid are often associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease. Taken in the form of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, they do not seem to have any effect.
According to British scientists, the current dietary recommendations need to be rewritten. They conducted a pooled meta-analysis of data from 72 studies from 18 countries involving a total of 600,000 participants.
When data are combined, trends that remain hidden in limited small studies clearly stand out. The main thing is that the total amount of saturated fat has nothing to do with cardiovascular disease.
The discovery gives rise to a number of new studies that will clarify what harms us and what protects us from these diseases. However, it does not allow indiscriminate and excessive intake of saturated fats in the form of margarine, fatty meats, pastries and cheese.
One of the indisputably proven harms of these fats is the tendency to raise blood cholesterol, which is a major harbinger of coronary heart disease.
