It is known that the Balkan peoples rely in their menu a lot on meat and meat specialties. Bulgaria makes no exception in this regard. Particular emphasis is placed on pork, chicken and beef and especially on juicy steaks.
Whether they are pork, chicken or beef, grilled, fried or breaded, they are always present at our table. That is why it is good to learn how to prepare them. We offer you several more non-standard options:
Pork chops with milk sauce
Necessary products: 600 g pork chops, 3 carrots, 2 onions, 4 parsley roots, 3 tbsp flour, 1 tsp milk, 2 egg yolks, 1 lemon, 4 tsp oil, salt and pepper taste
Method of preparation: Put the cutlets in enough water and boil. After removing the formed foam, add salt and parsley roots to them. 30 minutes before the dish is ready, add the sliced onions and carrots. Boil the products until fully cooked, then remove them and strain the broth.
Fry the flour in the oil and add the milk, broth and a few slices of lemon. Once the sauce starts to thicken, remove from the heat and add the previously beaten egg yolks. Season with salt and pepper and the cutlets are served with the milk sauce poured over them.
Marinated beef steak
Necessary products: 450 g beef steak, 50 g olive oil, 50 g lemon juice, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 crushed garlic cloves, salt and pepper to taste.
Method of preparation: Rub the steak with black pepper and salt, but without overdoing it. All other products are mixed in a bowl and poured over the steak, which must be left to marinate for at least 5 hours, pouring from time to time with the marinade. Once ready, grill or grill on both sides, continuing to pour the sauce. Serve with stewed vegetables or rice.
Breaded chicken steak with curry
Necessary products: 4 chicken steaks, 80 g flour, 2 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, 50 g butter, 70 g olive oil, 1 clove finely chopped onion, 5 g curry, 2 tbsp ketchup, 1 tbsp. liters of lemon juice, 300 ml of vegetable broth, 70 g of orange jam.
Method of preparation: The flour is mixed with salt and pepper and the chicken steaks are rolled in it. Fry on both sides in butter, then place for about 15 minutes in a preheated oven at 210 degrees. During this time, stew the onion in the oil, add the remaining flour and all other products. Boil the sauce for 15-20 minutes and pour it over the prepared chicken steaks.
