A study of an international brand for culinary products and broths in our country showed that the most prepared dish in Bulgaria is chicken with rice. Both chicken with potatoes and moussaka topped the list.

The data from the survey also showed that every Bulgarian housewife spends an average of BGN 10 per dish, striving to save on electricity costs.

According to the study, most people prepare the food they consume at home. As many as 90% of Bulgarian housewives proudly say that they cook in their homes, and the percentage of these women is smaller in the capital and larger Bulgarian cities.

In the top 5 of the most prepared dishes in every Bulgarian family are chicken with rice, chicken with potatoes, chicken soup and moussaka.

Experts say that the eating habits of Bulgarians have changed, as a study 5 years ago showed that our people most often consume eggs and meatballs.

"Now we are looking for an option in which several results can be achieved with one cooking or baking, while in the case of alaminuts one should always think of a garnish, which leads to additional electricity costs," said business manager Nelly Angelova.

The study also shows that more and more Bulgarians prefer to cook with olive oil instead of oil.

The latest data from the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets show that rice has risen in price by 11 stotinki, and its prices are currently around BGN 1.95 per kilogram.

Frozen chickens, on the other hand, have fallen in price by 38 stotinki and are now trading at BGN 4 per kilogram.

The oil has also fallen in price by 65 stotinki and its prices are currently around BGN 2.03 per liter.

Statistics show that the leader in raising prices remains beans, which jumped by 40.8% in one year and is now sold for BGN 4.68 per kilogram.
