Béchamel is part of many recipes for sauces that have entered the world classics. At the same time, it can be used on its own as a meat additive, which makes it especially popular and often cooked.
If you are fasting or vegan and do not consume milk and butter, this does not mean that you should deprive yourself of your favorite Béchamel sauce. You just have to look at the recipe we offer you. Believe me, this one lean Béchamel in no way different from ordinary Béchamel.
Products:
1/4 tsp butter / margarine for vegans
1/4 tsp flour
4 tsp vegetable milk (soy, almond, rice - depends on your taste)
1/4 tbsp. garlic / onion powder (optional)
1/2 tbsp. sol
Method of preparation:
Melt the butter / margarine in a water bath. Once the butter is melted, pour into a pan or other container and mix with the flour. Mix well to obtain a thick paste. Continue to stir for 1-2 minutes.
Reduce heat and slowly add a glass of milk, stirring constantly. Add salt and garlic. Continue to add the remaining milk.
Be sure to stir all the time to avoid lumps in your lean Béchamel.
Once you have added all the milk, increase the temperature again. Continue to stir for about five minutes until the sauce is ready.
Optionally, you can add vegan parmesan or yellow cheese (again for vegans), but this depends on the recipe for which you will use it.
Thus prepared Béchamel can be used to prepare lasagna, various types of pasta or to steam vegetables / grill.
Have a good time!
