- Even if you have a lot of fruit and jars in which to close the jam, do not rush to cook everything together. It has been proven that it is not good to put to boil more than 2- 2.5 kg of jam at once;
- Always wash the jars in which you will close the jam well and make sure that their lids can be hermetically closed. It is also a good idea to keep the jars well dried before filling them;
- When preparing the jam, it is extremely important to consider the right moment when it is ready. This means that the syrup must have thickened enough and at the same time not been overcooked. Tested in this case is the method in which you put a drop of syrup in a glass of cold water. It should reach the bottom of the cup and be easily diluted with stirring. Another way is to scoop the fruit syrup with a slotted spoon, tilt it slightly down and watch it carefully. An indication that the syrup is ready is if the drops collect at the top of the spoon and fall together, not separately into the syrup.
