The beginning of 2020 is definitely not a period full of positive emotions. Not only for us, but for people all over the world. We sincerely hope you read from home because you have isolated yourself, not because you have been in contact or are infected with a coronavirus. But as wise people say, everything will pass and we will probably forget it even in time.

Now, however, we will introduce you to some interesting facts that you will probably remember. After the purchase of essential goods such as bread, flour, oil and depletion of toilet paper (psychologists are still trying to somehow explain their insane purchase), in Spain, which is the second country in Europe affected by coronavirus, the population is already acquiring others market habits. Namely beer, wine, olives, anchovies and chips.

Olga Castanier, a Spanish psychologist, explains the behavior of her fellow citizens by the fact that when a person is exposed to a stressful situation, he also has to to stock up on products given his imposed isolation, he will not think of steaks, but of something "more like that" of the soul - alcohol and something suitable with which he can be consumed.

The results from the beginning of April show that the beer purchased in Spain is 80% more than in the same month last year. Purchases of wine (mostly red) are 60% more than last year.

However, olive growers as well as their sellers can be even more proud because olives have become among the most preferred products to buy in Spain.

Let's not forget the anchovies. It is still a suitable appetizer for both wine and beer. In addition, in many cases it is sold canned and has a very long shelf life.

But not only alcohol and "possible" appetizers to it could surprise us. We know that the Spanish people can rejoice, no matter what their circumstances.

And is there anything better than sweet? Chocolates and all kinds of ice cream are also rapidly disappearing from store shelves. If we didn't know what is the reason for this overstocking, we would say that the Spaniards are preparing for the biggest feast in the world!
