According to the Market Price Index, wholesale food prices have generally fallen by 7%. Fluctuations in March were observed in the prices of fruits and vegetables.

There was a rise in prices both on the international markets and in Bulgaria on pork, which jumped by 3%. Chicken meat has also risen in price by 1.5%.

On a monthly basis, the prices of durable salami fell by 8.4% and of minced meat - by 2.4%. The prices of both potatoes and carrots are lower by 3.8%.

Flour prices last month fell by 2.3%, and on an annual basis its price fell by 15%.

In March there was a sharp decline in the prices of cucumbers, as the Bulgarian greenhouse cucumbers fell in price by 25% and imported - 11%.

In March, the prices of ripe beans were stable, rising by 39% in just one year. The prices of eggs and rice are almost unchanged. Both oil and sugar prices have remained stable.

Last month, cabbage jumped 6.8%. There is also an increase in the price of fruits, with the biggest jump being recorded by oranges - by 6.5%. The prices of lemons increased by 5.2%, of apples - by 2%, of bananas - by 3.4% and of tangerines - by 2.8%.

On an annual basis, the prices of basic food products, such as sugar, flour, oil and eggs, have fallen. The lowest decline was recorded in sugar, whose value was 25% lower than last year.

On an annual basis, a jump in the prices of most dairy products was registered, as cow's cheese rose by 9% last year, cow's butter - by 5.6% and yellow cheese - by 2.6%.
