Suillus is a genus of basidiomycetes. It grows mainly in coniferous forests, prefers young pine plantations and their outskirts. It is very common between mosses and grasses, as well as under pine plantations, but you can also find it high in the alpine belt, under squats. Maslovka grows both individually and in groups.
The hat of maslovka is tan to dark brown. In wet weather it becomes sticky, and in dry weather - shiny and smooth. It is connected to the stump by a whitish cover. The cap has a sticky skin that peels very easily.
The cover that connects the edge of the hat with the stump is torn as the hat grows from this edge and hangs from it like a sticky whitish-purple ring, which eventually disappears. The flesh of the olive tree has a whitish-yellow color that does not change during growth. After the sponge is torn off, it begins to soften.
The spore-bearing tubes of the olive at a young age are white, yellowish-white or short and yellow. Its stump is whitish, pale yellow, with a sticky purple ring, dense and firm.
Types of buttercups
Ordinary maslovka / Silius luteus / - it is one of the most common olive trees in Europe, in addition it is one of the most collected edible wild mushrooms in our country. In very young mushrooms, the lemon-yellow tubes are hidden by a whitish membrane that connects the hood to the stem. Spore pollen has a brownish color, the diameter of the hood reaches 15 cm and the height - up to 10 cm. The common olive loves roadside and sunny places next to pine trees.
Grainy maslovka / Silius granulatus / - is also one of the most collected mushrooms in Bulgaria. The tubes of young grains release a liquid that resembles milk. The upper part of its hood is reddish-brown and slimy early in the morning and in rainy weather. The meat smells nice, has a yellowish color. The diameter of the hood is about 10 cm and the height reaches 8 cm. It grows mainly in grass and near pine trees. Most often it can be mistaken for the ordinary maslovka.
Cow maslovka / Silius bovinus / - is distributed mainly in coniferous forests. The hood is bell-shaped in young mushrooms, but over time it becomes flat. The color of buttermilk is yellow-brown and sometimes has a reddish tinge. The underside of the cap is yellow.
Elegant maslovka / Silius elegans / - its cap reaches a diameter of 3-10 cm. In the youngest mushrooms it is hemispherical, and later it spreads and becomes almost flat, with a slightly curved top. The color of the elegant olive oil varies from golden yellow to orange-brown.
The next two species, which are less common in our country, are sprayed maslovka / Silius variegatus / and Siberian buttercup / Silius sibiricus /.
The composition of the olive
100 g of olives contain 18 calories, 0.5 g of carbohydrates, 0.7 g of fat, 2.4 g of protein and about 95.4 ml. Butter contains vitamin D, B vitamins and antioxidants.
Collection and storage of olive oil
Due to the mucus secreted by the olives in wet weather, it is recommended to collect them in dry weather. Collect them carefully so as not to injure them. Note that the presence of brown channels in the cut flesh of the fungus indicates the presence of insects and their larvae. They often attack the soft and yellow flesh of the olive. This mushroom is very volatile and softens relatively quickly, worms after picking, so it should be consumed immediately.
Buttermilk in cooking
Buttercups are widely used in cooking. Wash and clean thoroughly before cooking. Its skin must be removed before cooking, as it can lead to an eating disorder.
The sponge is suitable for both heat treatment and canning and drying. Buttercups are heavy mushrooms that are not particularly suitable for dinner. They can be cooked stewed or baked in the oven, but do not overdo the fat you put.
You can eat the olives as an appetizer, fry them with a little butter and finally season them with a little black pepper and salt. Another very easy and delicious recipe with maslovka: fry onions and add chopped olives. Fry until the water evaporates and finally add black pepper and a little liquid cream.

Like most edible mushrooms, olive oil has a number of health benefits. Vitamin D is vital for the proper absorption of calcium, in addition, it has pronounced anti-cancer properties. Mushrooms are rich in antioxidants, which are vital for the body.
Harm from the olive
Olives are not known to have poisonous counterparts, which is an incredible advantage over some other types of mushrooms with dangerous poisonous counterparts. However, keep in mind that olive oil can grow next to some inedible mushrooms, so caution during harvesting is a must.
On the other hand, olives are heavy mushrooms and if their skin is not removed before cooking, stomach problems can occur. Do not eat butter for dinner, so as not to overload the digestion.
