Until now, almonds were considered completely contraindicated diets.
However, it turns out that this is not the case thanks to volunteers from the United States who participated in an interesting experiment.
It involved 65 people, each with a lot of overweight rings. 70% of the participants also suffered from type 2 diabetes. All of them were divided into two groups who followed two different diets.
The first group ate a low-calorie diet containing fat from almonds.
The menu of the second group was made of liquid low-fat and low-calorie carbohydrates. Summed calories and protein in both groups were the same.
What did the results show? Those Americans who ate the diet s almonds melted 18% of their weight. The second group - only 11 percent.
The participants from the first group also reduced their waists by 14%, while in the others the figure was 9%.
In both groups, the researchers found that there was an improvement in people with diabetes - low blood sugar and insulin levels.
Scientists explain the laxative effect of almonds is that they contain a lot proteins and fiber.
The participants in the experiment from the first group ate between 50 and 70 almonds a day!
